How AELC providers clean high artwork and wall décor
Every AELC Network Provider follows the AELC Source-Control Method: do not move the contamination; capture it or contain it. For high artwork and wall décor, that means:
- Identify. Note glazing type and any valuable pieces that need special handling.
- Capture. Dust frame tops with a soft HEPA brush.
- Clean. Clean glazing with cleaner applied to the cloth, never sprayed toward the artwork.
- Verify. Photograph.
Typical reach class: Standard Reach. About AELC reach classes.
How often should high artwork and wall décor be cleaned?
| Setting | Recommended frequency |
|---|---|
| Hotels and restaurants | Every 3 to 6 months |
| Offices | Every 6 to 12 months |
Grease, lint, humidity and how visible the area is can shorten these intervals. See how often high dusting should be done.
How much does artwork and wall décor cleaning cost?
Typical range: $5–$20 per piece (per piece). Very large mirrors or installations are quoted individually.
Prices are set by each independent provider. Ranges reflect published market data and AELC time standards. See the full above-eye-level cleaning cost guide.
DIY vs. hiring a pro
- Never spray glass cleaner directly toward artwork.
Safety and when to stop
- Fine art and museum pieces should be handled by conservators.
