Feet on the Floor: Floor-Based High-Reach Cleaning

Floor-based high-reach cleaning keeps the technician on the floor while a lightweight pole carries the vacuum or microfiber head to the surface, often up to the 20–24 foot range. It reduces routine ladder use, speeds setup and keeps work safer. Higher work is planned as Extended Reach or Elevated Access.

AELC reach classes

ClassWhat it means
Standard ReachFloor-based work within the validated reach of the equipment
Extended ReachLonger purpose-built floor-based systems
Elevated AccessLadders, scaffolds or lifts, planned separately with trained operators

The step-ladder rule

AELC providers do not stand on a step stool or ladder while handling a fully extended pole to gain a few more feet. Extra height is planned as a separate access class.
